Mary Cosby is now out of legal trouble after avoiding charges for unlawfully sheltering a minor.
The 49-year-old reality star, who left The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City after its second season, had charges against her dropped earlier this month, People confirmed.
On Sunday, she took to Instagram to celebrate the good news while making it clear that her primary goal was to please her God.
Court victory: RHSLC star Mary Cosby, 49, had misdemeanor charges dropped against her earlier this month after she was charged last year for unlawfully providing shelter to a runaway and contributing to the delinquency of a minor; seen in October 2021
Mary shared a social media post from another account that wrote that she ‘has been nothing but vindicated.’
‘Vindicated about Jen Shah, Jennie, and now her charges are dropped,’ they wrote. ‘Plus she’s never been charged with a crime involving her church like the #rhoslc women wanted to happen. Don’t come for the queen because god is on her side [sic].’
The post included a beaming photo of Mary as she wore large aviator sunglasses.
In her caption, she made clear that her faith was her biggest concern.

Last yer: She was charged in April 2021 and pleaded not guilty in June. The charges were dropped due to ‘evidentiary concerns,’ according to prosecutors; still from RHSLC
‘I don’t live my life to please people I live my life to please God,’ she wrote, adding a heart and prayer hands emojis. ‘To the people who are committed believing lies! Truth will always Stand. Love you guys!! So much!! Don’t worry about haters let them worry about you [sic].’
Among those showing their support in the comments was her former costar Meredith Marks, who is still part of the show.
Mary had been facing two misdemeanor charges for unlawfully providing shelter to a runaway and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
She was charged back in April of 2021, and in June of that year she entered a plea of not guilty.
Domestic issue: Although the details of the case were vague, an attorney for her son, who was also charged, claimed a girlfriend had been over to Mary’s house to visit him, and her mother called the police because she disapproved
At the time, her attorney Stephen McCaughey told People, ‘Mary is saddened that she was dragged into another family’s domestic situation but is confident that this misunderstanding will be cleared up soon.’
‘In this case, the right decision was made to dismiss it and [Mary’s] happy with that,’ he told Fox 13 on September 12.
Prosecutors said their motion to dismiss the case was based on ‘evidentiary concerns.’ Mary’s son Robert Cosby Jr. had also been charged in the case, though his charges were previously dropped.
Although the details of the case were vague, an attorney for Robert claimed that the whole thing was a misunderstanding after a girlfriend had been over to Mary’s house to visit him.
Her mother allegedly didn’t want her daughter spending time with him, and police were called to find her.
‘Rather than the Salt Lake City Department focusing on real crime, they’re turning into the relationship police,’ Robert’s attorney Clayton Simms claimed to Fox 13 last year. ‘The basis of this case is just a misunderstanding. We think there’s absolutely no merit to the case.’

Prosecutor’s filed a motion to dismiss the case on September 1, and Judge Katherine Peters dismissed it on September 7.
Mary was enveloped in controversy even going back to her RHSLC days, when viewers learned about her nontraditional marriage.
Mary revealed to the show’s viewers that her husband, Robert Cosby Sr., was originally her late grandmother’s second husband.
But the reality star was also dogged by complaints that her church — which was previously led by her late grandmother — was a cult. Accusers cited her marriage to Robert and request for large sums of money from parishioners as evidence of shady dealings.
Her costar Lisa Barlow claimed that her friend Cameron Williams had left the church due to ‘extreme religious trauma’ after giving the church $300,000 and mortgaging his house, allegedly at Mary’s request.

Several former parishioners interviewed by The Daily Beast also claimed that the church was a cult.
One former member, Ralph Arnold Jr., claimed that Mary said in church that ‘she is God on Earth.’
Others said there was ‘shame’ and ‘mental manipulation’ if they didn’t keep up with the donations requested by Mary and the church leadership.
However, Mary has strongly denied any wrongdoing and claims her church is not a cult.
